According to data from the Ministry of Communication and Information, the need for Data Protection Officers is 140,917 individuals. They are the spearhead of companies in implementing compliance with Personal Data Protection, including the choice of technology solutions that will be used by the company.

The Personal Data Protection Law (PDP Law) requires industries affected by the PDP Law to appoint a Data Protection Officer (DPO) to comply with the implementation of personal data protection for their customers.”

With the support of the National Professional Certification Board (BNSP) and the Ministry of Communication and Information, PT PDP Indonesia is collaborating with Atma Jaya University Jakarta to become the first Professional Certification Institute for prospective Data Protection Officers, with competency standards according to the Minister of Manpower’s Decree Number 103 of 2023 regarding the Establishment of National Work Competency Standards in Indonesia, Category of Information and Communication, Main Activity Group of Programming, Computer Consulting, and Related Activities (Ybdi) in the Field of Expertise of Personal Data Protection.
